Help!! I have found 2 of these in my tank

Hello All,

I have found 2 of these in my tank when I flipped my fuji rock--about 5 inches long each. My question is one what are they? And 2 is it good to leavce them in the tank?

I have thousands of them in my tank they come from the rock I say they are ok I have had no problems, they are bristleworms.
Even if you take the ones you caught out there are hundreds more.

Hello,

That is what I thought, I have seen only 2 in the tank and they are about 5 to 6 inches long each. I will leave them as I think they help clean up the tank. Let's just hope they don't decide to mate. How big are the ones in your tank?

Thanks,

Randall

They are harmless, not very good to eat, best with ketchup

Hi,

They are highly beneficial, scavengers. See this article, followed by this article, and, finally, followed by this article, for information about them.
