Lightbulb Monthly Food Group Buys

Does anyone know a place to get frozen food online in quantity for cheap?

I propose we do a monthly GB for our food from an online vender and split it up into the portions we need.

I bet we can get it a lot cheaper than we currently do locally or ordering as an individual.

Each person generally knows what they want. This could be a way to try a larger veriety of diets for our fish at a lower cost to us.

Any thoughts?

Foster & Smith offers frozen food in any quantity for a flat shipping fee. They don't offer Business Partner discounts on frozen, like the 10% they offer us on other goods. However, they do multiple item discounts and frequently have sales.

I've used this method with other reefers several times and have been quite happy. It also helps qualify for the $500 order level in order to get the 10% on other dry goods.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of 1800g of Mysis for $24 compared to 1800g of Mysis for $53

That is just the first site I pulled up for bulk mysis.

Got it.... buying in bulk and splitting the order does save considerable money over the individually packaged goods. But you do need to have a few willing partners......

Time to invest in a Seal-a-Meal. The investment cut my frozen food costs easily in half.

A year's supply of any food is going to go bad if it is exposed to air...dividing it up into one or two week chunks and vacuum sealing each smaller piece gives the convenience of buying the small packages with the pricing of bulk. It also allows for much greater variety since you can rotate foods more quickly.

(The large (!!!) blocks of cyclopeeze also divide up nicely into smaller portions for storage and gradual use.
