I'm in on the clam buy.

LB- I'm confused about what a smore is. I thought when you finished your beer....you got smore!

I'll also want in on a grp buy for other fun stuff! Don't forget meeee! BTW lots of beer left here that will be making it's way to your house, LB should be happy! I'll try to remember some smore stuff too, LOL!

usually places offer different options for shipping. and i know fedex does deliver on saturdays for about $15 extra bucks. which is worth it if your schedule doesn't allow deliveries during weekdays.

i've done it once before with liveaquaria, it worked very well. the saturday delivery comes before noon.

also, www.clamsdirect.com is a nice place to get clams from.

but when it comes to a clam group buy, i think what is going to happen is we won't know exactly what colors we are getting, until they arrive. as thats usually what happens when a LFS orders clams from the whole sale places.

then, we would just draw names out of a hat, and it first come first serve on picking out the color clam that you want.

which is the reason i suggest trying to figure out how to get some ORA clams, b/c i've seen batch of small ORA maxima clams come in by the dozens, and while maybe 1 or 2 stood out....they all looked REALLY good.

that way, everyone walks away with a pretty good clam.

I'll put the request in at work tomorrow. I may be able to get some steaks at low cost from the restaurant. I work at Fleming's in Stony Point so it's all prime baby.

im waiting for word back from a few places on maximas and with a frag buy from reefermadness im just afraid to take on too much stuff. last time i did this i had a real hard time trying to match up screenames and real names. dealing with three different orders will end up confusing me and likely others.

I would be willing to have the order delivered here the day or a few days before the swap, if you want to collect the order feel free. i can seperate things in my 55 as there is very little in there right now

I believe we just ordered x number of SPS frags and x number of LPS frags and they sent whatever.

I don't seem to see that option on their website anymore though????

Maybe since Cindy is ordering half their stock she'd be willing to get the Reefer Madness order together.

basically it was 10 bucks a frag, i think we had 35 people pay, but he sent about 10 extra frags.

we decide the mix, sps, lph, zoas, ricordia; the frags were all good sized, pieces off wild colonies, but there were some really nice pieces, at least a dozen really nice acro frags

so they were mostly just pieces broken off wilds?

hard to go wrong for $10/frag.

yup, your giving up the benefit of aquacultured' record of success for the chance at getting something unique. most of the frags were 2-3" or more. the lps was mostly acans and echino's, there was one stylo frag, a few montis, a milllepora(not A. millepora but Millepora millepora) and the acro frags were quite varied.

Put me down for a 2" T-bone or Porterhouse.
Seriously though... if this happens, let us know what the breakdown is. I'll be happy to put in for it.
Beer, steaks and a frag swap? The only thing missing is dancing girls and pyrotechnics.
