"Dave's" Moon Lights. Group Buy info

I inquired into a Group Buy for the Moon lights that Dave mentioned.

http://www.fishbowl-innovations.com/

"We do offer discounts on group buys. We offer 5% off group orders over $150, 10% off orders over $500, and 15% over $1000. I will also ship for free."

I asked if everyone could place their orders individually (which is much easier) or would I have to collect the money and place one order: "I require that all the orders are together. I need to know the total for everything up front in order to determine the discount."

To make it worthwhile, I would say we would need to hit the $500 mark.
If enough people are interested, I will be the POC.

Talk to me reefers. . .

Rick, I may be interested in ordering a $120 package, but I am waiting to get a question answered first from my controller manufacturer. When are you planning on ordering?

Hi Will,

No definite date yet, but I am thinking early next week. That should give everyone plenty of time to see this and jump on if they want to.

Update:

The only snag I see in a Group Buy is getting the goods to you all after I receive them. You “Northerners” are just too far away for me to make individual deliveries, and I know we’ll all want to play with our new toys as soon as possible. So. . .

Rick’s e-mail:
“I've placed a notice with my local club. We'll see how many people are interested. One stumbling block (for me): I live 40 minutes away from most of the people in our club, and we have some members that live as far as 2 hours away. Me collecting the money would not be a problem as I can have them mail their checks to me. The big hassle for us would be getting the items to the people. If I place one order with you, but break it down into the individual orders with the person's name and address, would you be able to mail all the individual orders to each person at their address, still free of charge?”

Response:
“I cannot ship for free to multiple destinations. I assumed a single large shipment for everybody. If people want to do this individually, let me come up with a coupon code for you guys to use. I'll just make it flat 10% for everybody who has the coupon code- they can buy from the website whatever they like, and enter the code for the group discount. Its going to take me a couple of days to get it set up. I also need to know how many people are going to be involved (so I can limit the coupons to your club).”

RRC: That sounds like the best approach to me.
10% off,
No delays waiting for others to decide if they want in,
And each order will be shipped right to your door.

The only thing we would be missing out on is the free shipping. As soon as I get the coupon code I will PM it to everyone so you can place your order.

Sound good?

Each tube covers roughly 2 feet...so tanks like a 55/75/90 would do well with 2 tubes...3 would really cover the tank...

As for who benefits, fish such as clowns that spawn naturally in captivity do so many times based on the lunar cycle...

Also, if anyone has an anemone and any smaller fish (such as sand sifting gobies) the fish benefit by not swimming in to the anemone's grasp and getting eaten like silversides at night...

I may see if I can cancel my order and jump on here too...see if I can get my order cheaper...

Now you guys do this group buy. Where were you guys when my family was asking me what I wanted for Christmas?

Rick - count me in for (1) MCR and (1) extra light. $80 total.
Thanks for the PM.
