Still learning as I go along so this question may be stupid. But what is the base and "head" of these leathers like? Is it a firm/rigid skeleton like LPS have? Or is it very soft (go figure) like a Xenia and such?

Leathers are considered "soft" corals; they do not build a hard stony base like LPS. That said, their texture is not "as soft" as xenia; it's more like.... leather. Go figure.

looking at all these im thinking there is something wrong with mine =[. the polyps on mine never retract at all and stays in a dim grey-ish color......mines in a 29 gallon tank, what should be the minimum lighting if its placed at the top? My calcium was very low at one point but i been working on getting it up for the past two weeks and havint seen a change....anyone?

And here is a pic of my old toadstool from 2 years ago.It was a monster,and the guy that has it now has it in a 240.It has grown to almost 2 feet across.I don't know why,but it has never sprouted any buds or produced babies.
