12G NanoCube Question

Is the tank 12G including the space with the filter or just what is shown?

Just wondering...thanks guys! :-)

If you want an exact number, do a search. It has been covered numerous times.

From memory, the 12G actually holds about 10G of water.
By the time you factor in LS and LR, it'll be under 8G of water.

in my cube i have 20lbs of sand - 12-13 lbs if liverock in the living quarters and about 2lbs of liverock rubble in the back and i got almost exactly 7.5 gal of water in. (just to give you an idea.)

When filling my tank initially just to test for leaks without anything in the tank, even powerheads or whatever, the tank filled to the very top was just under 12 gallons. Now no one fills the tank to the brim, but just above the glass line and you now have about 11 gallons. Add in your powerhead, sand, liverock, corals, and whever you plan to put in the back filter area and you have about 7-8 gallons of water. That why I opted for less LR and only have bout 7lbs and I still only have about 8.5 gallons of water in there.
