ID my strange seastar!
Today I ran the tank on (manually) dimmed lights, at the lowest output the dimmable ballasts would allow, after reading about a previous (RK) TOTM turning his lamps off for an entire day each month, and noted greater PE.
However after watching the pods and other nocturnal organisms I noticed this bright orange seastar on the BB!! No idea when/how this guy arrived but here he is: If anyone has an ID that would be great, I’m not sure on what it feeds, or if they are considered reefsafe? Any help would be appreciated! I assume it's not fromia indica. Around 1.25". Most rock is sourced from the GBR. (Click for a larger photo) I always find it amazing that you can look at your reef numerous times a day, and still find new things after months/years.... Thanks

It would need to be from Aus. as everything in the tank comes from our waters.
