Frags will not stay put

So, I got my first frags (sps) last weekend. They look great and most are doing good (birdsnest has some bleaching).

I used super glue gel and mounted the frags on LR rubble. My problem is my frags are continually being pushed off my LR. The frags I have placed on the bottom get pushed into corners and against the LR.

My tank is a bb 40B with a good amount of flow. I have a tunze 6100, a maximod with shaved prop (probably around med flow), and a mag 5 return. Everything seems to love the flow except for frags getting pushed around. None of the frags are in the direct flow.

I am not sure I will keep my aquascaping the same and I am unsure of my coral placements (never done this before) so I do not want to glue the frags directly to the LR.

What do you all do for mounting frags and getting them to stay in place in high flow tanks?

Do I just use larger pieces of LR rubble?

Thanks,
michael

plumber's epoxy. you can make little pads that break off pretty easily, but will hold frag plugs/rubble in place. takes some practice, but you can be pretty subtle about it.

Thanks!

Does any plumber's epoxy work? Will it be something Ace will have? home depot, lowes, and anything else are over an hour away.

Aqua Mend at Home Depot...watch your skimmer after you use it...it has a tendency to make skimmers go nuts for a day or so.

Check out a previous TOTM. Scroll halfway down and see what he does. I really like this idea.

that is a great idea. Is LR easy to drill with out breaking it?

Sometimes you just gotta go for it and glue them down. It is still relatively easy to break off of a supur glued frag rubble piece--until the base encrusts over the rubble, but that would be a good thing--right?

I read somewhere about using plastic golf tees and they work as well. I sometimes prefit the tee to the hole and have to trim the tee down in length, but it works great. This way you can slowly acclimate the corals to your lighting. I don't know if it really matters but I have filled in the hole in the tees with some two part epoxy and let them harden in order to give a larger area to super glue the tee to my frag.
