update: Free Damsel. He's caught and all you said it couldn't be done

Anyone wants him they can pick up in Anaheim. I love how some of you said that "That Damsel with laugh at you" or that there is no way I can catch him. Hahahaha

I used a cricket/critter cage. I taped string to the top flap and ran it through the slots out the aquarium. I than put food in the critter cage and when he went in there to eat I pulled the string and the flap closes. I can't take credit though somebody on reef central last year told me to do that. It's honestly the best trap. I could have caught my maroon clown too, he went in there as well.

Thanks, it feels that much better when people say it's not gonna happen. hahaha. Ok I won't gloat any more. I'm going to give it to my brother so he can get his tank cycled. I wonder if he'll fall fro the trap twice though if my brother doesn't want him after the cycling. Oh well it'll be his problem then. Hahahah.

there was some people being cool that said good luck but there were 2 or 3 people saying: "LOL" , "The damsel will laugh at that trap ", "YOU WILL NEVER CATCH HIM. Save yourself the time and frustration"
I don't care, I'm not mad, I just thought it felt that much better to prove people wrong. They were just giving there oponions it's just in this case they were wrong.

your fish said that you were mean and he didn't want to stay where he wasn't wanted, so he just jumped into the trap... so your trap really didn't work. the damsel just gave up...

didn't think you'd be able to pull it off, but congrats!

lesson of the day.... do not buy another damsel !!!

ya no hard feelings I was just having fun with you guys, but seriously though that is the best trap because you just pull the string and the flap closes. He didn't even see me.

anyway,..thats exactly how i set up my trap too (for the tank).
i wrote up a "tutorial" here on rc. Let me find it

MAC INGER:
That's great! but for an easier method I only paid $3.59 at Petco for my criter trap. I just taped the string to the top flap and ran the string through the slices in the plastic. It's awesome because the water makes the flap float up and so once he's in just pull the string down and it shuts. Piece of cake.
