not in reef but i have one in a FO(well 2 of them but I don’t advise put two together mine did pair up but it more likely they wont)!!! they are grate fish with personality and look amazing!! but like all angels they have a risk in a reef they could bite coral they mite not!!! Regular feeding of a varied diet could reduce the risk!!! it all down to weather you want to take the risk!!! i guess lps are most a risk!!

They are one of the riskier dwarf angels by most accounts. I have never been brave enough to try on in a reef. I imagine that you could find plenty of success stories, but a pile of failures as well. My experience in a FO is very similar to bad badger 1 above.

I've had 3 different bi-colors in my tank, never seem to live long. Never nip corals, LPS or zoas. They seem to be doing great, eating, foraging, picking at rocks, etc., then one day they end up dead :< Parameters are all okay, I'm giving up on them for a while.

I haven't had any of mine last any more than 3 weeks. I have tried maybe 3 or so over 10 years, and never done well.

ye id agree they are hard fish to keep but if they get going they are ok having said that i had mine for 4 months i think don’t hold me to that and when the one died the other did to(3 days after not sins of ill health, feed and every thing but i lost another angle in the same day but i think it was the hot weather witch got them(summer last year) I was very disappointed as I was quite proud of keeping to hard fish togever.

I have one and he doesn't nip at any of my corals but I also have a flame angel he is a huge nipper of sps (some say they are the safest pygmys guess I didn't get lucky at all...)
the bicolor is a great fish for me, my favorite pygmy angel.

Ive had mine for 2 weeks, and at 2 inches it is eating everything!! It nips my clam, lps, sps, and most anything it can. No damage yet, but it is making me mad!! Beautiful fish though, and gets large for a dwarf angel. I mite just have to pull the corals for now and see if some heavy feedings will wien it from eating corals. But I guess it is like all angels, you never know, because I have a pair of flame angels in there to and they havent tuched a thing...
