Fire! Fire!

Long time no hear. Even though I got out of the hobby I still watch the boards. Sort of.

Anyway, I took shots tonight of the fire behind me.

Some neighbors have voluntarily evacuated, mainly due to air quality issues.

My work was a ghost town today, a lot of the roads are closed now. I'm being told I'm not required to go in tomorrow so I'm just going to stay up late and watch it, no need for sleep it sounds like

Cheers
Josh

Thanks everyone.

The fire has moved closer and one of the two streets out of my community is now blocked off by the police, (and the fire). In my feeble attempt to get to work i did see the fire up close and it is just one hill away from me now.

Without having a helicopter I can't see how big this thing is, only that they haven't been able to stop it, and its slowly making its way to my house at about 1 mile per day.

I'm safe for now, but if its progress continues, tonight pictures will be even hotter.

Cheers
Josh

Why the hell are you going to work? You should be packing and getting the hell out before it's too late.

Bryan!

My stepmom came and picked up all the kids she could this morning. So its just me and my wife and youngest now.

And the flames on our hill are all out now. The air is smokey though. But things are good. No damage, other than everything covered in ash. Our house will need a bath

I'm back at work today since there's no more fire near my house, (that I could see).

Tell your wife thanks for the call, it was nice to hear from you guys.

Cheers
Josh

We love you all and are worried. We started out worried about Mike, then suddenly you were in the hot spot.

We are glad to hear that things are getting better!

Yeah things are all great, just having a region-wide mega campfire out here.

Bring your coat hangers and marshmallows

Cheers

And there's a fun easter egg in the 5th picture from the top.

Cheers

So I'm guessing it was hotter than normal at work then

Glad your family is safe and sound. Those fire pics are no joke.
