Talking so how fast is your high speed Internet and how much do you pay

so how fast is your high speed Internet and how much do you pay

i live in the middle of BFE
there is a place that just started offering DSL this is the first place to offer high speed Internet in my area
seems like high speed net has been out forever but we are just now getting it here
we just got sunshine last year LOL

i am trying to gauge what kind of deal they are offering seems like i have herd some places offering faster for cheaper

but here is what they offer
256 Kbps for $49.95 or
768 Kbps for $69.95

so what kind of deal are you getting and how fast
is this good or bad

Being in BFE, DSL may be your only bet other than dial-up...and it's still better than dialup. I've got DSL for $40/mth at 512 down/128 up, can up it to 1.5mb down/368 up for like $54/mth. It's the only game in town, so if I don't want dialup, it's what I've got.

You have to live in the right neighborhood. It's fiber to the house. My local and long distance phone goes over the same line ($30). You can also use it for TV but I have sat..

Right. I guess I'm in the wrong neighborhood for that sort of service. If I mentioned the word "fiber" to my service provider they'd probably think I was talking about the cotton their uniform was made out of.

I think there are only half a dozen people on this plan in my town though (heck, there are probably only half a dozen people with a computer at home), so performance is always good.

That's fast Doug! My work is only 2344 down 881 up.

The test is done in Cali and I am in NC though.

wow a lot of you guys get some pretty fast connections for reasonable or great deals

being that i wouldn't pay over $50 for high speed Internet the 256 Kbps for $49.95 doesn't sound incredibly fast for $50 a month

i may just wait see if my cable company will ever get high speed in my area

is 256 Kbps a common high speed connection any where i know its way faster than 56K but still seems slow for DSL
does that seem slow to you
seems like they are trying to throw a starving man a cracker
being that there is no other high speed net in are area they are offering the bare minimum for top dollar
