Just watched Hero

I wanted to check it out at the movies but never made it to it. Watched the movie last night and it's not what I was expecting at all.
This was a damn good movie. Very Couching Tiger meets The Last Samuri but without Tom, thank god.
Just wanted to say
Brian

I have to say DITO!!!! Not only very entertaning but beautifully done. The cinematography (sp?) was gorgeous. Esp. the fight scene between snow and broken swords pupil. watched it once on Sat. and again on Sun. Worth every penny spent for the DVD.

Need to watch it again. Would like to try to figure out what the colors mean, seems to be a bit of a message there. I am guessing that the red was rage but the blue, white and green will take another viewing or two to come up with some better guesses.

I bought the DVD at a Chinese video store for 6 bucks. Not a bootleg, it's just that the movie had been out for a few years!

What a great movie though. Now THAT''S what I call ART!

Plus Zhang Ziyi is just soooo cute! (the pupil)

overall, i thought it was just OK. my wife understands mandarin and really liked it. she said a lot was lost in the translations. i guess that's why i prefer to watch the more action-oriented Jet Li movies like OUTICA, Fist of Legend & High Risk.
