For Sale threads

As much as I don't like the idea of inactive forum participants using the MARS forum as a Craigslist - I am not going to rehash the topic. But if you are going to post something for sale - please follow some basic rules:

1. Post the price in your thread.
http://archive.reefcentral.com/forum...hreadid=418451

2. No auction allowed (no highest offer). You can set a price and OBO - but if someone offers buy it at the price you set, sell it at that price.

3. Don't sell your non-reef junk here. That's what Craigslist is for.

And last - if you're a business - please let members know. I hate the thought that members are trying to sell frags/LR to each other, and businesses could be purchasing them for resale at a profit.

Minh,

Thanks for the etiquette tip. Most of us newbies are just simply unaware of these things and fumble our way about until somebody sets us straight.

I agree with you Minh. Thanks for reminding us of the proper way to offer your item for sale. May I also suggest that if you are a MARS member, bring your items to the meetings so people can see it.

You will see a new member focused direction come this month the MARS meetings.

You must have 50 contributory posts (ie, not "Nice Tank" "Bump" "Sweet Tank" etc...) and have been registered for 90 days before you can sell or trade an item.

We really should abide by this. It would keep new people from making this forum into Craigslist Jr.

Well, dang, my thread about the 46g bowfront setup FS was removed because I haven't made 50 posts here. I have been on Reef Central for years, but just lurk to learn mostly. Others that know much more than I always have such good advice...

I tried to go to MARS website to describe my tank, but can't see the forum there.

MARS members have always been wonderful and made my tank the success that it is over the years. Joe in Auburn (since moved to Seattle area) was here in a heartbeat when the tank before this one sprung a leak on New Years Day when all stores were closed and helped me put everything on Life Support. All the stock in it was fragged and shared or traded/swapped with the club.

This little tank had some fans in the club, so I thought someone may be interested in it. I am no longer able to keep it. So, if interested, please email me. I'll head over to Craig's List and see if I can figure out how to post there...

Thank you,
Dawn
