Has anyone tried Crystal Sea salt?

I still use Reef Crystals, from my last purchase from DFF over a year ago. I heard lately there had been concerns on recent batches. I am debating which salt to buy next.

I noticed this on MD, wonder if anyone has tried it?

I'm all about Tropic Marin "Pro Reef" Salt Mix. My coral opened up like crazy when I switched to this mix.

I read some complaints about this salt regarding inconsistent quality, gastropod deaths and coral bleaching. the articles were dated 2003 so don't know if thing have changed. this salt got a lot of publicity from positive results in an online reef magazine back then.

I am looking for an new salt as well. im using tropic marin pro right now but prices have gone up. the price on crystal sea is low but I don't want to take the chance of lossing livestock. IO and tropic marin get the most praise for being consistent in quality.

Thanks Terry, that is good to know.
I was impressed how the salt is advertised in their website.
I tested some other lower cost salts and am still looking for something more cost efficient that will not upset the corals and fish... I need to order some within a few months.

from what i read it was 1 batch sold for about 6 months or so(they are the largest salt mfg in the world)... and the Mfg is aware of it... you should contact Marinelab about it.. i read about one person who sent in a sample of his salt and his Rcpt and got a refund for the salt....
