Ushio 400w

I have been told by a few people, that ushio 400w bulbs will fire on M-59 400w ballast. Has anyone here used ushio 400w standard mag ballast?
I have a ushio 175, it needs the extra "starter" in the pulse start ballast. (luckly I have one) it will not fire on my probe start 175.
Great looking bulb's
I want to replace my XM20ks with ushio 14ks..

BTW, Thanks, really like the color. Guess they do not make a 250w 14k?

Not so fast...

According to Ushios website the north american 400w 10k does require the standard M59 like I orginally thought, but it appears they recommend the pulse start M135 for the 14k's.

175 5001586 UHI-S175AQ/65 6500k M137*
175 5000761 UHI-S175AQ/10 10000k M137*
175 5001591 UHI-S175AQ/14 14000k M137*
175 5001592 UHI-S175AQ/20+ 20000k M137*
250 5001070 UHI-S250AQ/10/CWA 10000k M58
400 5001492 UHI-S400AQ/10/CWA 10000k M59
400 5000760 UHI-S400AQ/10 10000k M135*
400 5001608 UHI-S400AQ/14 14000k M135*

Whats the difference between these two 400W 10k bulbs?

This pulse start vs. probe start stuff is confusing, especially when companies like Ushio seem to have bulbs of each type.

Charlie, see if HelloLights will guarantee the bulbs will fire on your ballast and allow you to return them if they don't.

I believe the CWA is a north american version with a built in ignitor designed to be run on M59 probe start ballasts. From all the specs listed on the website, that appears to be the only difference.
