Paul,

You are a very mean person. How dare you make me feel this jealous!!!! I can only sit here and stare at pictures of your tank wishing it was in my den.

Thanks for my newest case of depression.

PS

AWESOME TANK!

Very nice. Let me know when you find that secret to getting ricordia to thrive.

Do you zoos do very well, as far as growth of the colony size?

Steve,

Yes they do great. Both at the base of the pillars and at the top back of the tank (a few that were on old rock from my 225g tank made it back there).

Ricordia though....not a chance. I just dont get it.

Oh well....

P.

Great write up, Paul. I was reading through here and thought, 'man, he should post up a link to a video', and there it was.

Congratulations! There are many of us who try to follow your example.

Now, get with that bar and lounge chairs!

Beautiful...amazing t-5 tank.... a question about your fish room... you have a diagram of a frag and sump room and a pic of another room.. do you have both areas dedicated to this tank??

The diagram was for me to figure the layout. Its a schematic of how I would do it in an ideal world.....with time that changed and i used larger barrels instead of tanks....but the flow through the systems is still the same.

I will be adding a frag tank and a water make up barrel to the "fish room' soon.

Hi Paul,

Very nice setup you have. I have a few questions if I may:

1. What kind of sand bed do you run in the display tank? What is the depth?

2. What are you practices with new fish additions as far as introduction and quarantine procedures?

Thanks,
Ron

Awesome tank, Paul. Congratulations on being named TOTM. The award is well deserved.

I see you have two anemones in your reef. What are your experiences with them?
Do you have a strategy to keep them from "wandering" or splitting or even growing out of control?
Do you have them isolated from the rest of your reef?
And, do you find that any of your SPS or other corals can compete with the anemones?

Wonderful tank!

I am also interested in your choices on the sandbed.

yes, more sandbed info please. did you let it mature before livestock went into the tank? sand sizes? how did you seed it? do/did you feed it?

I saw you reference your old 225g tank, but never saw how many gallons this display tank is.

It's a 600 gallon tank with a total of approximately 800 gallons including sump/refugium.

Wow Paul! Im impressed! You should be proud of what you have done. The picture before and now gives everyone so much inspiration. I love the depth of this tank. It brings out the aquascape and looks very natural. Keep up the good work!

Thumbs up

May the doubter’s be enlightened… Great example of what T5’s can do! I agree that glitter lines are spectacular, but I think you have just reconfirmed that a beautiful SPS dominated tank can look awesome without the use of halides.

Thanks Mike....

Now if I can just get my trigger to keep from flipping sand, and my clowns as well....I may have a tank as crystal clear as yours.

I really loved the pictures you had in your article. I was very jealous.

Paul.
