Indeed! I hope your wife is friendly to this one. Mine could care less generally. However, she does enjoy it when I rinse the floss nightly - I usually do this dishes first so I don't get that junk on our dishes.

I run a 250 w HQI on a 14" deep 9.3 gallon tank, the bulb is only 7 inches above water, I haven't had any problems yet you should be fine with those lights.

As far as the wife, g/f debate? The difference is once you are married and they don't like it, you just do it anyway cause you fail to care anymore

I ran a 250W MH and 2x65 actinic on a 30G cube. Seemed like alot of light as well but everything did great. The only problem was heat.

Well put reefkoi.

My wife really enjoys the skimmer collection cup smell after it is poured out in the sink.

Finally got it finished. Here is the final product. I added a Reef Keeper 2 to the left side.

Well finally got it up and running. The brackets that it sits on are rated to 1000 lbs but I still added water slowly just in case. Got the live rock in and I'll let it run it's cycle and do it's thing for a week or so.
I am mainly planning on doing a mixed type reef. I am probably going to focus on softies, lps, and maybe a clam or two.
