My strange nano chemistry....

HI gang,

I have been maintaining a nano cube for the last 5 months. I simply love it to death however my levels are totally off. I just made a 50% water change and here are my levels before the change.

Can someone help me please get this thing in check?

NITRITES 0
NITRATES VERY HIGH
AMMONIA 0
PH 8.2
SALINITY 1.023
PHOSPATESABOVE 3.0
TEMP 85
HARDNESS 15.7
ALKALINITY 5.6
CALCIUM 500+

AS you can see my levels are just kinda wacky............also my nitrates are through the roof.

To counter this, I went ahead and stopped dosing with BIONIC and made a water change.

I also swapped out all the media behind the the tank and replaced it with crushed / rubble live rock.

A little about the tank:

Feeding: 2x per day Spirulina. Coral gets SeaSnow 1x per week.

Occupants: 2 True Percs, 1 Bangai Cardinal, 1 Blue Damsel, 2 Emerald Crabs, 1 Watchman Goby.

Coral: 1 Leather Mushroom and 1 set of polyps

LiveRock: about 10 pounds of liverock / 1 inch of sand.

Maintenance: 1x water change per week using dechlorinated tap water. This has changed......i have begun using saltwater to TOP OFF every week.

Set up: 1 additional RIO powerhead that moves current from with the original pump.

Besides the obvious probels the experts will see, here are some thing to note. The room where this nano resides use to climb up to 90 degrees. We just a cooler yesterday so it should ge better.

I have been trying to get coraline growth for over a month now and its just not coming in.

So any advice out there? thanks alot.

Do you have any mechanisms for exporting nitrate and phosphate? Skimming? Growing macroalgae? DSB? etc?

All reef aquaria need them, and yours shows the effect of not.

These articles may help you pick some methods:
