Second ive tried many ways to propagate this coral ,
Cant seem to figure a way to get her to stick or stay alive! Ive tried to superglue, just turns black at base falls off rock and dies. Tried to stick in live sand with rock over cut end same result. Tried to wedge between two rocks same result. There has got to be a way! Im open to any suggestions! Any takers out there?? |

cant really ID it, some kind of finger leather or tree leather. but i frag my neon green tree leather by snipping off a branch below a fork in the branch. then use a 1/2 inch wide strip of large open weave bridal veil($1 a yard at walmart) over the notch to hold it down to a depression in my rubble rock. not too tight so as to cut through it when it expands and moves. and keep it in decent flow so that algea and bacteria dont build up on the cut end. in about 2 weeks it should have attached to the rock. then remove or snip off with scissors the veil and you are done. if the coral grows over some of the veil, no problem, its inert. Its the GARF method. i do the same for colt corals, and zoos and xenia.

have you tried to use tooth picks and rubber bands.
tooth pich threw the bace and rubber band off the edges of the tooth pick |

If you do this do you want the cut base to touch the rock or do you leave a small space between base of coral and rock?? may sound silly but someone else told me something like this and he wasnt too sure how to do it. |

How do you keep the bridal veil from coming off the rock?? Do you wrap it around the cut base of the coral and then tie it on the back side of the rock or do you( glue it????) |

oh, sorry. you can do all the above to hold bridal vail in place or rubber band it to the rock. much easier.

For the toothpick idea, make the bottom below the toothpick at least long enough to touch the bottom of the frag plug/rock/disc. That way when it heals it heals onto your plug or rock.
