Question Bottom of Tank is Bowed

I just finished the stand for my 75 gal AGA. The top of the stand where the tank sits is flat and level. The bottom of the tank trim has a slight gap where it sits on the plywood at the back. The gap is between 1/32" to 1/16" and is about 30" long. Is this something I should be concerned about or will it fix itself when water is added?

thanks.

"The top of the stand where the tank sits is flat and level."

Something tells me this isn't true.

shim it, almost all tanks that sit on a rim will have a gap somewhere.
I had to do this with my 180, so it is normal...

never shim a tank only a stand. chances are that tank is straight and the wood is warped or twisted.

Thanks Guys.

I'm pretty sure the stand is flat. With a metal straight edge on the stand there is no gap. With straight edge on bottom of tank there is the gap as mentioned above. I get the same results if I flip the straight edge over, so that is not the issue. Is it possible that the caulk on the tank glass could be pushing the bottom rim out a little? If that is the case then wouldn't it flatten out with water in it. I am a little scared to add water yet for fear of cracking the tank. This is the largest tank I have ever dealt with and never had this happen before. Not sure what to do.

Return the tank to the LFS if you can.

If you cant return then put a piece of insulating foam then a piece of thin ply on top of that then the tank. JMO
