Melev's 280g for TOTM?

Fellow Reefers-

Anyone want to jump on this bandwagoon to nominate melev for TOTM?

I am a noob to the reef hobby, but a 20+ year aquarist. His tanks, website, advice, etc was instramental in getting me informed enough to finally take the leap.

For my money, TOTM isn't just about a great tank. Its about personal actions/behavior of the tank's owner. Not many have done more to advance the hobby. Marc is always there to offer advice & spread information in a responsible and courtious way. I have enjoyed reading his starfire 280 thread and his "reef log" on his web site. He has shared his experiences in great detail like no other. He also volunteers countless hours as the president of DFWMAS. I'm sure I'm missing tons of other things he has done to advance the hobby and help others. Maybe others could help me with more info. Oh, and did I say he has a great tank?...

Just a thought from a fellow reefer...

I officially nominated him the other month here from the online magazine link... I am sure adding to the thread would work just fine and catch the attention of those connected with "the man"

Re: Melev's 280g for TOTM?

I DISAGREE with the following statement:

I think TOTM is exactly about the tank. If a great tank has a jerk for an owner, that doesn't make how he has built/designed/operated his tank any less significant.

DISCLAIMER: This comment is NOT a slam against Marc and has nothing to do with him personally or whether or not his tank/setup should or should not be nominated. And, like every post in RC, just my opinion...

Guys... Posting here will do nothing to help the cause. You have to click the link above that I posted to add to the nomination.

There are a dozen posts on this thread, but not a single one in the nominate a tank for tank of the month or my previous nomination.

So if you Really want to nominate melev for tank of the month you have to click here to add to my thread or here to start your own thread.

Thanks in advance!

Is this a popularity contest based on his dedication and support of the hobby?. Do we all strongly feel that his tank is worthy enough to be named TOTM?.

Someone post a recent photo of his tank to the thread so that those who have never seen his tank (I have seen his tank) can vote based on their opinion of whether or not its TOTM. And not because he is smart .

Hop-

I nominated him in the TOTM thread before starting this tread, my post should be in there.

Ixthys-

I agree that even jerks can win TOTM!!! BUT, when trying to decide between dozens of great tanks, I think those who further the hobby and help expand its base of hobbyists deserve a little more consideration. JMO

synthesis-

To see his tank, go here Melev's Reef

BE SURE TO NOMINATE!!!!!!

When I click the link to your thread, I get an error. When I click the link to start a new thread, I see only my post.

Can we only see our own threads in that forum? Maybe a moderator could chime in?

Be sure to Nomintate!!!!

When you nominate someone using those links only the nominator and moderators can see it as to make it confidential.
I also nominate Melev for TOTM

Aww. You guys are so great. I've got a feeling the reason it hasn't achieved TOTM status is because I don't have woodwork.

Does this help?
