The stand is not secured to the floor. I don't think there's any need for doing that in this case.

Also, how did you come up on the angled setup of the tank in perspective to the room?

cheers

It was one of my rare, brief moments of creative inspiration. I wanted three sides viewable, and I wasn't happy with the way my old tank was laid out for three side viewing...nobody ever went to the back side....

layout of room and 180 gallon tank that was replaced by this tank....

Here's a couple more shots that highlight the access that I have into the tank.

From the wet room I can easily get in and maintain the overflow. There are doors all the way around the tank as well as on the end that let me access any point of the tank without hassles.

There's no way to describe the amount of flow you can get without any sand or gravel until people see it for themselves.

It's intense. Did I mention that this is a barebottom system?

It's all part of making it easier to maintain.

And here it is after the first coat of paint!

The overflow is completely unnoticable when looking at the tank from the side.

That is some nice work you have done. I love the angled set up you have. Makes my 125 look tiny I really want to do a room divider tank like you have in the future. It is looking great. Through some water in that puppy!!!

I just cannot wait to see the rest of this thread! There is no way my wife would let me angle a tank into a room. We are living vicariously through your construction.

Yeah, it really made all the difference.

We're getting close to getting it wet.....

At this point in the construction I hadn't even put water in the tank as a test yet. That's how confident I was that it was sound. Glad I was right.

Believe it or not, my wife wasn't all that keen on a bigger tank until I came up with the angle idea. After that she was sold.

I think you need to fire your maid.

Very cool. And to think I was jazzed because my wife is letting me upgrade to a 125g.

Hey, you don't fire a "maid" that lets you set up a tank like that.

Amen. I've got 17 feet of viewable space. My tank is equivalent to an in wall tank that's 17 feet long.

There's is a downside to all this though. Unless you buy my house from me, I'm going to have to live here forever.

Nice work on the tank, I am enjoying the pictures.

Can you give us another perspective of your overflow and maybe a short description?

It may be an optical illusion, but the top of the overflow (with the egg crate) looks lower than the rest of the tank. Is that because that is the height that the water will stay at?
