I dug 30+ post holes for the fence in our backyard this summer in 90degree plus heat w/ terrible humidity. She barely visited me. Inside girl mine is...help would be nice

Hop whatever route you take I'm sure the tank will look great. Pics are awesome too.

That is EXACTLY the same thing I deal with day in and day out!! God forbid I ask her to do anything outside...especially work. The bugs might bite her!!

You guys crack me up... Mrs. Hop uses violent force against me to ensure she gets the yardwork

I've had this silly fish for almost three years and had never been able to get a decent shot as he/she is a pain to focus on. Somehow it sat still and allowed me to take two pics of it

I love psychadelic mandarins...can't wait to see a decent pod population so I can get me one...

As for the Misses...she doesn't use violence, rather she uses psychological warfare!! Maybe that is why I am so deranged!!

Those pictures are INSANE!! Worthy of a frame! Very cool! I wish I could get some shots like that.....I would Photoshop them and get some prints done! Theres a local LFS owner who blows up macros like that and mat & frames them...they sell like hot cakes for over $100 a pop. Those are just as good if not better!

Thanks! This weekend I figure I'll start settling down, learning the camera and after seeing the stuff below this post, take a crash course in PS. I usually only use it to take specs off of pictures and blems.

Nah I don't mind. I like the fact that the dust specs are gone... But it seems to have lost some of the detail in the flesh... Otherwise I really like it. I should play with the PS I have more

yeah, PS is amazing....if you open a picture in PS, just try this:
hit Shift + Cntrl + L

That runs an auto level on it and sometimes that 2 second trick can totally make a great shot even better!

Very very cool! Look at the front top fin. If it's short it's a female if it's long and pointed it's a male.

Some new reefin toys came in today including my UV... Man that thing is a monster! I had an idea how big it would be, but wow Hopefully I'll get the new toys on the tank Saturday morning.

A new pO4 reactor and some stock supplies, as well as some coral dip. I also grabbed a few MJ powerheads as I'm *thinking* about setting up a 40ish gallon softie tank later down the road... Plus you never know when you'll need some MJs...

I got my UV roughed in this afternoon. I couldn't mount it the way I had hoped as it stuck out too far. So I need to build a riser for it as right now it's sitting on a few things to prop it up 3/4" and I need to mount the ballast and tuck the wires. I'll try to get some pics up soon, but I need to get some stuff around the house done and I'm way behind on homework.

J: that is cool, but the way my tank is built, a wavebox just isn't an option... I would cascade water over the top...

Just a few shots before I sink into the lazyboy and do some homework

So here is the box. I knew the dimensions when I ordered this thing, but it really was much bigger than I pictured in my head:

Out of the box:

Here is a pic with a can of soda to give a little size reference:

No pics of the actual install, but here it is roughed in:

Hopefully after I get caught up on homework I can take some time and get the wires tucked and the ballast mounted. Hopefully in a few weeks I'll have time to build the riser for the unit:

It's hooked to the skimmer feed so that the skimemr can remove the crud right after the UV nukes it
