Kenya tree dropping branches

Hey all,

I'm more of an SPS freak (*ducks*) so I dont really have a lot of experience with softies. I have a 5" tall kenya tree that dropped a branch a few weeks ago, and another one today. Is this more of a "happy and healthy" thing like when fish breed, or is it stress-induced like when anemones often split?

That's normal for Kenya Trees to drop their branches. After awhile it'll be a pain for you. They will attach to anything when the land. My LFS won't even take mine anymore. I end up flushing them.

it will take over your tank if you let it. Its beautiful to look at but it does get out of hand

Dropped another one today.

I'm not too worried about it speading... The way the flow is set up in my tank they (along with anything else heavy enough) settle out in a spot of sand in the middle of the tank. That's where I found all three.

this is what i did if you want to try it is up to you i took a small plastic container and cutting it down so that it is about one inch to two inch's high and fill it with some rubble rock and place some where in the tank then start throwing all the baby branch's into that and that way you can try to contain it there and when ever you need to take some out for trade or to give away just pull it out from the container

works for me
