Nice Setup ... Did you insulate the roof in the garage? I saw the door and the AC unit ,but curious about the roof. What temp is your tank at during the day?

Thanks for the nice comments,
ALMOST READY!!! I can't believe it. Just need to add salt water: Everything is in place, with my pops and a fellow reefers help I'm just about ready to throw in the saltwater and about 70#'s of rock I've had waiting for this setup, mounted the PFO ballast, ran a seperate circuit using it's own 15amp breaker, you can also see the new 105gal 65"tall container I picked up to hold water for my 65 and Prop tank water changes, that thing is going to be a life saver... The Light Rope is double secure with a lock up top and a cleet to tie it down The garage was sealed off from the washing machines creating a better environment Eric: Above the garage is another room, and I ran a test on this setup while it was test running with tap water where I let it run for three days straight with no A/C running, and no chillers or heaters and it never rose above 80 degrees. I'm satisfied that in the middle of the South FL summer/heat my garage has beat the heat issue. Without insulating the garage door this never would of been possible Anyone that enters is encouraged to help our fund, hehe Oh, and I thought this was cool. I just caught this little cerith leaving an egg trail. First time I've seen it in my tank and it's a year and a half old. Soon very soon, I just need to find a good price to have some water delivered. Any suggestions? Thanks

Keep up the good work. I like the air conditioner you put in there. How does it work? What is a good brand?
Thanks.

Just curious,
Does your split system have a condensate drain? I dont see a drain in that pic. I'm sure you'll have a lot of condensate to remove. Those little mini splits are great units for remote rooms like yours. Nice system, Chris

H20:
I thought I'd be using this thing more than I have to tell you the truth. Since I insulated my garage door the frag tank hasn't gone above 80. When I do run it for my comfort as this is my new office the drain runs outside. Jess: Yeah man Ive got some frags in there and I've been meaning to put up an updated pic. I'll do so tonight bro. Still looking for a nice 10K bulb though.

Finally an updated pic
This thing is slow going but I've got it completely running and even some frags spread out.
Also just put up some posters I picked up from Marine Depot. They really make the place look good. Not to mention they're educational.

I insulated my garage the same way and ran an 9 inch duct to a 14x14 boot with a 4 direction grill, im in central FL and even on 99+ days it stays 77 degrees with no additional electric output and only 1 degree difference on in house temps, you just have to make sure you have the tonage on your unit to handle the extra sq foot, 1 ton handles 500 sq feet. The mini splits are good units for remote locations but can add allot to your electric bill depending on brand and sear. just my $.02, great setup, im in the process of setting up a propagation area in my wifes old GH. (my garage is my metal working area)

Wow Legatio great info man, will keep all that in mind and thanks for the comments. Could I see a pic of your 9" Duct fat setup? I've been pretty lucky in that I've actually not really had to use the mini split as I've been able to maintain temps in the tank @ 80. And humidity under 35%.
Thanks again

Very nice system compoulou, aren't you going to add some fish to your prop tank? I add them to mine (and conitnue to add more, can't resist...) and coral growth and colour had improve.
I must have those posters too in my garage.

Thanks Mr. Rodrigues, and coming from you after seeing your setup is a MAJOR compliment.

I love the pulley for the lights. I may have to use those on an in-wall tank I'm planning.
Looks great, pack it out!

I was thinking about that myself on my in wall project. The cool thing is he can raise them to have access to the tank and still have light. I also purchased some in ceiling canon lights if I have to remove the light and still need light to work above my in wall.
I love this setup. It is cool to have something like this in your garage living in FLorida. I love the poster too.!!!!

What do you have in the plastic basket on the left of the tank?

Left basket holds bout 70#'s of LR and the right holds some cheato. Sorry that I haven't put up any more pics with the actual contents of each basket but I don't want to risk getting kicked out of RC.
