Anyone using Tunze 6025???

Well i added a Tunze 6025 in my 29Gal and it seems like a lot of flow for a little tank. Do you guys leave it on all the time or turn it off at night to mimic the ocean??? Is there a controller i can buy that can turn off the Tunze 6025 at night but keep my other pump on???

I use the 6025 with my Reefkeeper 2 controller. I have it on from 9a to 9p.

I have a 6025 and a Koralia 1. They are both being controlled by my Reefkeeper 2 - 6025 is on for an hour and then then shuts off and the Koralia comes on for an hour. Night mode doubles the time. SugarFox - do you have any pumps on at all from 9p-9a?

BTW - this is on a AP24.

i have 2 tunze 6025s (1 is modded for extra flow) and my return for flow in my 29. Flow is perfect for an sps tank BB. If I were running lps or softies I guess it would be way too much. Where did you place your tunze? maybe if you aimed it at the surface you might have slower flow in the rest of the tank.

I have mostly LPS and some SPS and it seems like too much flow for the LPS. I have a Tunze 6025, Powerhead 402, a HOB Refugium with maxijet 400 for return flow, and a hob filter running carbon and rowaphos through it. If i have just the Tunze by itself the flow seems ok until i turn on the powerhead 402. I'm thinking of putting my smaller powerhead back in and just leaving all the pumps on 24/7. Or should i always turn off one of the pumps at night so the corals can rest???

I just have my return pump on from 9p-9a...its a Quiet One 2200 - plenty of flow for night time.

I like the idea of it being more calm at night, it is more natural. If you don't have a controller, you can always set up everything on timers.

im thinking of setting up another tank and using 2 6025's on a 20H. And around 400gph on Return, do you think it will be too much flow in a BB SPS tank?

Just wondering cause i might change to 2 Koralia 1's for less if people think its too much.

thanks
Rob

I think you would be fine, I am using one on my 20h and its all softies and lps. If I was going more into SPS(like I wish I could, but thats another story) I would definitely add a second. With just one I am getting mostly gentle flow through out the tank but there are a couple spots that are more dead.

I don't think it's too much for SPS only.
