What is this!??! Favia or Goniastrea?
My coral looks absoultly IDENTICAL to this piece . Heres a not as good pic of my actual piece
My LFS said it was a Favia, but I've never seen a Favia that wasn't in it full circular form. Mine looks 100% identical to the one on reefermadness, but they said it is a Goniastrea aspera, what do you think?

these are all difficult corals to properly id. the top one appears to be a goniastrea to me. the tall ridges surounding the mouths and the large and irregular "polyps" leads me to believe so. yours isnt quite as clear but it seems like yours has a more regular and circular shape to them and the mouths dont appear to be as far set back as the 1st picture.

Yes the ridges in mine aren't quite as high. So I guess the LFS might have been right. I had just never seen one like mine, and this one is nearly identical.

Great close up!, nice Favia.
What kind of camera is it? |

That is a nice close up, but if you look closely in the first two pictures, you can see that the corals are not identical. The first picture illustrates shared coralite walls and the second (and third) show individual coralite walls.

Yes I see what you're saying. Thanks for help identifying it. The camera is a Canon Powershot SD600 Digital ELPH.
