not formal, but this is my second try at this (frags) the first was a big failure, so this time im taking my time, and trying to acquire the right equipment vs trying to upgrade as we go... I learned the cheap equipment sometimes does not work (except I still got cheap lights , but if the don't work right, i can just upgrade either ballst or bulbs, and still less expensive than getting a top brand fixture...)

also i wanted to look right at home, since my garage has white cabinets all arround, so i pianted the stand white too.

if i do good on this, maybe next Christmas, I'll setup a Dual 8' x 4' x 1.5" frag tanks... but only if this takes off nice...

I know, that's why I posted their Info, on the picture, the quality is comparable to TRUVU, but at half the cost...

the same tank, I called TRUVU before and they wanted to sell it thru a dealer only.. BS.. well, I told them to call Aquarium Concepts, and the price was a ridiculous $589 plus tax, and 2 weeks to make it, then delivery time to the store, and it didn't include bulkhead either, that's extra

so I took my business elsewhere... and I did remember long ago finding by error Marine Marine Systems, in San Jose. so I searched again, and after a long, long search... finally I found it!

Very nice setup.

Can you explain the DIY returns a bit more?

Also, is the light fixture always going to be at that height?

thanks

the DIY are a split return with EDUCTORS, so I have great flow, I even think it may be too much

also yes, the lights are fixes for now, until I can tell if the light is needed lower, all I have to do is change the mounting, and add the suspension cables.

I personally don't know, but it seems like it would...

now I have a question for the experts here

ok, my lights are "DUAL 250w HQI 15k, it also has 4x 65w Actinics Blue, should i lower the lights or will this be enought light for my frag tank, currently they are 17" above the tank, or 18" above the water or 26" above the eggcrate.

!!!!!!FEEDBACK IS REALLY NEEDED!!!!!

It seems really high to me.....personally i would do maybe 12" above water....i think this will give optimal growth.

the quality is great! i get lots of complements when they see it in person... and is just as good as TRUVU, seems are clear, buffed edges, etc. they have 3 shops, but the build it on one shop, not on the one at 10th st...

give it a try, you don't have to pay until you pick up, so if you don't like it, just tell them

That is awesome! Did I read correctly that the frag tank was $350 special ordered? Did you pick it up, or was it delivered? If it was delivered, what company delivered? Thanks.

Excellent frag setup JMC, I'm actually setting up something similiar to this in my garage. I read the whole thread but don't see much info on what equipment your actually using. What return pump are you using, I saw that you mentioned using something that is much better than the Mag12 you were using. So what are you using now. Also how much total volume of water is in this setup? And lastly what skimmer is that? Looks like a Coralife Skimmer.

Thanks and good luck bro.
