Percs and RBTA

Last Friday I got a mated pair of med. size Percula and a smallish (3"expanded) Rose Bulb Tip Anemone, although they didn't come in the same bag I put them in the same tank, same day after proper acclimation of both parties. So far the perc haven't given the anemone one look much less a snuggle. Is that normal or what? Should I have gotten a different Anemone for the relationship?

If they host at all it will take time, A way i find always works is that printing of a picture of percs in a BTA and stick it to the side of the tank as close to the Nem as possible and within a couple of days they should be hosting, mine did it overnight but some are different
heres one i used:

Thanks for the reply 07kar93, if you're serious that's the funniest thing I ever heard of, but I'm willing to try it as it will be simple enough to accomplish. Anyone else tried this method?

I have heard that if you put the 3 in a bucket w/ water of corse it will help speed up the process

I think that would stress the fish and BTA

I had no luck with the image posted to the tank
i ended up mounting a flash flight to the side of the tank pointed at the anemone
(The fish are attracted to light)
They started hosting it a few days later.

The picture is posted on the tank and the flashlight idea is interesting, I may just try that also.

Mine took three weeks, but they found it on their own. Give them a little time.

I've also heard of using a laser pointer. Less cumbersome than a flashlight, methinks.

True or false percs? BTA is not a natural host anemone, but false percs will take to it an aquarium. I've never tried myself. I'm not sure about true percs.

Heres a method that always works for me. Turn the lights off on them when they are anywhere near the anemone. Even if they are high up in the tank as long as they arent on the other side... turn off the lights and let the clown fall asleep. It will eventually seek out an anemone or something to rub by nature and you'll see it with your anemone in the morning.
