Cleaning Power Heads

What's the best way to clean algea off of power heads (hair and coraline) I just brush off the hair but the coraline is on there.

soak them in hot water & vinegar, scrub, then rinse well.

dito have fun cleaning if u have a scraper it helps alot. calcium build up will hurt ur powerheads in the long run

soak them in vinegar for a few minutes..... on a side note, the coraline will grow on them, I'd just let it go unless it was hindering performance.

Clean them with vinegar and a small brush. I just let the coraline grow on mine.

Although I took my coraline covered mag cleaner out of the tank for a day. When I went to put it back in all the corraline died off. So that's one way to do it.

I just ran my koralia 3's in a bucket with about a 1:10 mix of vinegar to a gallon of water for about an hour. Then scrub the bad stuff off. I didn't try to get all the coraline off it though, but the algaes,etc came off easily.

vinegar and RO water, an old toothbrush, and a scraper. An hour or so to take apart the pumps and clean. VOILA! They'll come out looking brand new
