Xenia is touchy, some people can make it flourish in a toilet, others couldnt keep it in the best kept tank, have you tested your water? What are the parameters, last water change, skimmer working alright, lighting.....maybe we could help more with more info

I wouldn't worry about it. Xenias are the **** in my tank. I cut them, rip them, whatever! My torch even stung a stalk nasty and it started to melt away, or rather the dead pieces were falling off, but never the less it came back and bigger!

As for the shrinking, its normal. My Xenias will shrink for no reason and 5 mins later they will be up and at them.

My skimmer is good, lighting is 3-65W PC on a 25 Gallon, and the only thing I can think of is that we transferred them from my neighbors tank to mine, so maybe that is it. I did do a water change then, three days ago, but maybe I will do one again. I wonder if when I added my calcium/buffer I burnt them, would that do it? Crap, hope I didn't do that!

I am really worried, it looks like the stalks are just melting off my LR, is there anything I should do for them?

I had a huge Xenia colony. And little by littel it melted away. I tried a few more freebies from the local club and the same thing.

Then I added some Pulsing Xenia and it's been great for a couple months now. Try a different flavor of Xenai.

Some people can't wait to give it away, others it doesn;t last. Go figure!
