metal halide question

I just bought an Advance 400 watt Metal Halide Ballast, unassembled. I have a 55 gallon reef and wanted to know if it could run two 175 watt MH by splitting the wires. If not do you think that a 400 is too hefty for a 55. Thanks for your inputs!

you cannot split a MH ballast it will not work, also 400 watters kick out some heat that would be the major issue with a 55 gallon tank

They would be 12-15 inches off the water and only on for about four hours a day during hi noon hours...do you think heat is still going to be an issue, the reason for this is I have two 10K T5's and two 96watt Actinic 03's
