Here's my dining room with my 100 gallon and adjacent dual macro-algae and mangrove refugiums. Couldn't not get in on this one! (great thread!)

Screen surface area = 87"x49" = 9970 square inches Tank surface area = 82"x45" = 8749 square inches But here the tank wins: Screen volume = 87"x49"x2" = 37 gallons Tank volume = 82"x45"x29" = 447 gallons It also helps that the screen can't hold water and the tank can. Even if I count the screen frame (94.5"x53"), the tank still holds more water! Still - the Discovery Channel's Blue Planet DVD's look better on the TV.

If I leave my hood doors open, he'll jump inside and try to catch my fish! (the cat with high-beam eyes I mean...lol) even to the point of fringing his hair on my halides!

I feel sorry for all you with only one tank.
Here's my first room, the kitchen with my 1 year old 26 gallon reef and my 72 gallon in the process of becomming a reef, need lights and to build a canopy for it, like the one I did for the 26. Also in the kitchen is a 6 gal nano reef on one of the counters. |

Next room is what used to be a laundry room (who needs a washer and dryer anyway?) and now houses two 125 gallon tanks (one fresh, one salt) and a 46 gallon bow that has a breeder pair of clarkii clowns in it.

Now this next room is everyones favorite (and also has the most tanks BTW). No way to get it all in one shot so I did 4 seperate ones.
First is the 'east' view. Tank of baby percula on the left, a turtle tank in the middle and a 5 gal tank with DIY stand and conopy that has our CB green wolf eel blenny (almost a year old now!) |

West view. 20XH with a pair of orchid dottybacks, and a 75 gal FW tank with gibbicep plecos and congo tetras. The 18" sailfin gibbicep is the fish we designed this whole room around.

And lastly north view which includes the breeder closet. A bunch of 10 gals that have baby ocellaris, percula, frenatus and 20 gals that have broodstock.

Wow - more great rooms! Keep 'em coming!
I'm getting lots of good ideas for our new house If I could only talk my wife into a fish room...... who says the kids need a bedroom....... Steve68 - I'm planning on putting our chiller in the garage, but would like to add a bigger sump/fuge too. Have you had any problems with heat or unwanted stuff getting in your systems? I'm in FL on a pond, and can't have a shed - so the lawn mower , toys, and my wifes car will live in the garage too. Thanks! Fuzz |

fuzzy i cover the top of the tanks when im working in the garage,
in the summer i run 2 6 inch fans blowing down on the sump & cools the tank by 4 deg but causes more evaparation. i have not had any problems with stuff getting in my tank but i dont use it for my car so i dont know how long ur wife runs the car in there u might have Co2 issues maybee u just need to get a fan & u should be ok
