And, if I would have bought them together, my Maroon Clown pair would be pretty pricey. I bought two at different times from Petco for $10 and got them to pair up. The LFS sells pairs for $150.

Now there's an idea for a business. Buy cheap clowns, get them to pair off then re-sell them....

Anyway, my most expensive fish was my mystery wrasse, but he jumped out a few weeks ago. So now the most expensive fish is my naso Tang (see avatar). 8 to 9 inches perfectly healthy for $120.

So far, $90 for a "Painted Frogfish", and the cost is still adding up considering it still doesn't like dead food. I took a few pics but they aren't worth sharing.

One of these days I plan on having a Rhinopias ($300-$600) tank, and if I ever get a great paying job, a Hawaiian Dragon Eel.

Naso is about 9 inches long. Just starting to grow out streamers on his/her tail. Awesome fish. Never really wanted one till i saw this one and how magnificent looking he/she is at this size. My naso thanks you for the compliment.

My dwarf moray and ribbon moray tie for price. I know ribbons are normally not that expensive, but it was in LA's Diver's Den so of course it's expensive, but they've also had it in their care for 5 months and it's eating, so I found it to be worth the extra.

I did have a 300$ Crosshatch trigger, but she had to go to a new owner due to some aggression issues, so now its my male flame wrasse 200$, but my chevron tang, sargassum trigger, and blue dot jaw are all a real close second at just under 200$ each.

$300 (on sale), is the most i ever spent on one fish. was a p. asfur angel in the early '90's. i have pic's on film but don't have a scanner to post the prints. by the late 90's they were selling for <1/3 $$. now i have a hard time justifying keeping wild caught fish despite the limited choice's of captive bred.
btw, the only two chaetodontoplus conspicillatus (~4"), i've ever seen were at dank fish store in s. nj at $500 each. that was in the mid '80's and oh yeah i wanted one but you know how that goes. i actually thought they were expensive considering that store was selling 6"-7" chaetodon rainfordi's for $200 and i paid $60 for a pair of 2"ers at my lfs. a bargain compared to item #1022071205 3" Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus $3,699.99 http://www.liveaquaria.com/diversden...9136&siteid=20

one more reason why wild caught "rare" fish should stay in the ocean..if it is "worth 3600 in some ones tank then it is far too rare and more valuable in the ocean..

anyway my most expensive fish to date was eaten by my mini carpet anemone, 20.00 for a yellow clown goby..LOL

But I'm traying to get some rare wrasses, and a bellus angel, the last week a saw one for $110 dls aprox maybe less.

The cheapest fish I ever had was a Spiny Puffer (Diodon Holocanthus) for $7 dls , then I sold it for $20 dls it was to agressive
