Cutting Acrylic

I need to have about 4" shaved off the opening of my tank, does anyone here know how to do or have the tools. The opening right now is about 6", not wide enough to put some of the L/R that I have

You're talking about the bracing on the top of the tank, right? It can be done with a router, or a dremel. If you want it to look good then a jig or some guides will need to be made up and clamped in place, this is really the most difficult part.

Here's the catch... that bracing is put there to give the tank strength and to prevent the tank from bowing, or worse blowing a seam. If this happens to be a sump and you have some baffles in it then it's a different story, otherwise I'd say tread carefully.

friendorfoe - you can route the top (messy) or possibly crack the LR in 2 then glue/tie-down the LR back together in the tank.

Only messy if you don't use a guide... or if you've had the right amount of beer. Guess you've never seen my sump? I routed the entire top opening.
