officially have a problem with my xenia

Any suggestions? It is attached to a rock that needs to be at the bottom of my tank anyway. Xenia is about halfway up in the tank and it stays retracted as soon as my mh's turn on. I didn't think 150's would be that big a deal. But it keeps fragging and it is spreading to places I don't want it to go. How low of lighting conditions do they need? It only extends with the actinics on. It stays retracted during the course of the day

I keep mine in a 12" tall tank with approx 17.25 watts/gal of MH and VHO's, so I don't think you should have a problem. They love light. Sometimes mine close up for a while at a time. This may be part of their growing phases. Maybe it needs some time to become adjusted to your MH's. What lighting where they being kept in before?

coralife pc's. I've had the new light since november. It just keeps fragging and moving to other areas of the tank.

Many people have problems with their xenia spreading too much. Many people keep them just in their refugiums if they keep them at all because of this. They can be havested every now and again and thrown away as a form of nutrient control. Hey It's better than having algae take over. If you decide to let them live on they'll eventually level off in their spreading, unless you have a nutrient problem.
