Any recommendations on what/where to buy mysis?

Got some new fish recently and turns out they're pretty finicky. Looking to get some higher end food for them (PBT, 6-line wrasse). Thinking of getting mysis (not sure if I should get frozen, freeze-dried) version...also possibly in the market to get some cycloppeeze.

I'd use the search function but we all know how often that's up and running.

Any recommendations on which kind and where to get them?

If your in the Long Beach / Lakewood area, I know that Strictly Fish carries both PEMysis (frozen) and Cyclopeeze (frozen).

Thanks. How much do they typically charge for those?

Also know of any closer to the SGV area?

Don't forget the dried seaweed for the PBT.

Frozen Foods
Mysis (SW Hikari, most any LFS)
PE Mysis (avail from Strictly Fish)
Cyclopeeze (any LFS)
Daphnia (most LFS)
Enriched Brine Shrimp (most LFS)
Rod's Food (Ali's)

Daphnia, 2nd by Cyclopeeze is usually a favorite for Anthias and picky eaters.

Dry foods:
New Spectrum Pellets
Julian Sprungs Purple Algae (Tang's favorite!)
Nori (roasted from Asian market)
Julian Sprungs Red Algae (least preferred algae, but eaten)

Ali was thinking about it, but not sure if he received any or not.

Other than that, I've only seen it at Strictly Fish.

I've been attempting dried nori but the blue tang doesn't seem to go for it....altho I think it's getting bullied by my yellow tang so perhaps that's why he's avoiding it...but it's placed fairly close to it's hiding place and it still doesn't go for it. The nori I gave might be a little bit on the stale side but do you think the tang can even detect that once you put it in a tank? Also tried New Spectrum pellets 1mm but he also won't touch that and neither the 6-line.

Never heard of Daphnia.

Thanks for the recommendations...any recommended place where I can get some of those you listed? The Julian Sprungs sound interesting...

MarineDepot has all the Julian Sprungs stuff .... definitely at least get the purple. My 2 hippos, yellows, and purple tangs love it.

I've done the "Pepsi Challenge" with the algae. I put Purple, Green, and Brown out on the same clip and they all went for the purple first.

I feed a 6" strip of algae every day. The tangs eat anything.... but they need algae in their diet.

Try the Daphnia for the wrasse.

Get Rod's Food from Ali shop. That the best food there is...period. It a little pricy but it will feed both coral and fish at the same time.
