Testing.... testing....

Santa brought me a Canon Rebel XTi for X-mas... so here's a few of the afternoon's shots that seemed to turn out. Not many reef pics, sorry, as the family didn't seem to like me getting up to look at the tank

And the piece de resistance ----- the cheesecake my mom made!

Thanks I wish it was a little bit better in focus. I'm going to try to get some better ones today now that I'll have time to sit around and play with things.

Well I managed to sit down and experiment with my camera and the clowns a bit. They've always been the two fish I had problems getting good photos of before, so it's nice to know that I can get them now. I also managed to get a photo of my Kole tang that's a good representation of colour, but it's focus is lacking a bit.

Oh, and I thought this one was neat because you can see the detail in the "fingerprint" of Sam's tongue

Been playing around with things a bit more... having a lot of trouble increasing the ISO since I don't have a tripod. It would also be a lot easier if my rabbitfish didn't try to be in every shot.

Let me know what you think... suggestions always welcome

I was pretty proud of myself. I actually managed to get a few decent shot of my wrasse, which is always a tough one.

I noticed you're mainly at ISO 400 and aperture setting at f/5.6. I mainly liked the picture of the green chromy, but the rest seems kind of blurry or mainly because there was lesser Depth of Field. Most of my shots are at f/8-12 with ISO 100 or if the shot is just way too hard I have it at ISO1600(but thats really noisy). You could either back up a bit more distance and get the whole subject in focus or up your aperture(but ya gonna need some real steady hands). Tripods are whats best reccommended by the pros though. I need to go out and get one... have fun though.
