Question Green Star Polyps

All right, it was nice at first having a colony of fast growing stars spreading over one rock like a soft fuzzy carpet. I've given huge batches of this stuff away and it's like Kudzu it just keeps growing! How do you trim this creeping crud away from your more sensitive corals? Any secrets?

Just keep on top of it and prun it regularly. Your other choice is to get a good amount of live rock rubble and place it around your more sensitive corals OR place it around the perimeter that you're ok with the GSP growing in. Once the GSP moves onto the rubble just take it out, trade it, or sell it to your LFS.

You should isolate them from the main rocks, that would be the best way to keep them from growing over other corals.

Put it in my tank...my GSP grows really fast but seems to dissolve just as fast from the opposite end of the mat...it basically runs circles around the rock it's isolated on.

My only advice is to just trim it way back and let it regrow. Slicing it with a razor or just ripping it works fine for me.

KEEP ON TOP of that stuff. It can easily take over your tank.
