triggerfish growth rate
Hello,
I have 2 triggerfish, Humu Humu & Niger, they seem to be growing very slow is this normal. I've had them about 9 months and they haven't grow much. There both about 2". I also have a sailfin and a koran angel, that seem to be growing at twice the rate that the triggerfish are. Thanks

Yes, I feed them twice a day squid, a variety of food silversides, mussels, clams. should I be feeding them more, also if I wasn't feeding them enough, will that hurt them in the long run. but I do notice that in the morning they really don't eat that much,
Thanks

as long as their sides aren't 'caved in' they are getting plenty. none of mine have ever been enthusiastic about eating first thing when lights come on but shortly after that they are more then happy to eat and will do so any time of the day you're inclined to do so.
if their healthy i wouldn't worry about it, if you want more growth pick up on the feedings and enrich the food before feeding it, keep an eye on water quality and enjoy it. kc |

i had both those same fish for over a year and a half and seemed to not grow much either.

I've owned several of the two over the years and both type grew rather quickly till they get about 5-7 inch size then they put on allot of mass rather then length. i do feed allot more often then the average person (5 or more times a day) and i keep pristine water quality in all my systems.

There sides are pretty fat and well rounded.
I will increase on feeding. Thank you
