A little bit of "dirty water" never hurt zoas.. How regularly do you do water changes? I'm looking forward to seeing more!

The Zoanthids are fine, but some of my SPS were a little less thrilled. My ORA Tort browned out, but I'm sure it'll come back. I try to do a WC no less than once every two weeks. I need to do one a week since I don't use a skimmer.

nUgZ, this may not apply with your system because you keep alot of softies, but I plan on water changes every week.

I'm doing this for a myriad of reasons. It's much more manageable mixing small amounts of water at one time, and it's easier to store for the following week. Also, it keeps me on a schedule. Too often with my last system, which I didn't skim, I would become lax with water changes for 100 different excuses. Trying to do it all at once with larger changes can stress your animals. No more with this new system.

Finally, and more important for myself with a solo SPS system, I'm going to be replenishing elements weekly. I also plan to dose with each water change.

Man your Zoas and Blastos are nice!

Corndork- Thanks. If you do get that set up, post a link to your thread. I'd love to check it out.

ICF- I do have a good number of softies in here, but there are also just as many hard corals. Weekly WC's would be ideal and I'm making an effort to do so. I'm trying to move away from the less than amazing varieties of coral and focus on the cream of the crop. We'll see what happens. As far as your tank goes, I would recommend dosing opposite your WC's. When you do the WC it's kind of like dosing in itself. If I did my WC on Sunday then I would dose on Wednesday or Thursday. Thanks for looking!!
