No Friday Shipments ?! Or you better call early...
I thought I may share my experience...
I just got to OK from the wife to place an order today and thought that I would ship it today for a Saturday delivery... Needless to say, I contacted FlyingFish and Marine Depot both of which said that they can no longer ship anything out today... wait a minute... I called an hour ago which was 10:00am CA time... wow... nobody wants the business tiday I guess... (It was $150 order too)... |

Many livestock places won't ship on Friday. Has something to do with the shipping places being closed on Sunday. Any problems with the delivery (you wait all day and don't get it, it gets misrouted, etc), and there's no way to check on it 'til Monday - virtually guaranteeing that everything will be dead.

Happened to me
I placed a Friday order for delivery on Saturday and the order never made it. I tried to contact the supplier, but they were closed on Saturday and there was nothing I could do. I had to wait until Monday, and come to find out that all of the shipments that went out on Friday never made it to their destinations. The supplier gladly helped me out and replaced everything that did not survive. That's why FFexpress is the only supplier I try to deal with. Their customer service is excellent.

Ya know, I never really thought of the whole, "what if it didn't make it" thing... I guess in retrospect, it's probably not a good idea to ask anyone to ship Friday for Saturday delivery.
I am once again learning the same lesson many times alerady learned in Reef Keeping... patience... I'll wait until Monday. |

I disagree. I always ship Friday for Saturday delivery. I have done this about 10-12 times. Worked out great each time. Had it at my door by 8:30a.m. in most cases!!! Order from FlyingFish, Marine Depot, Premium Aquatics, Inland Marine, E-bay sellers

We ship a lot on Friday and suggest that it be HELD FOR PICK-UP. Not every city or town has a staffed location but most do and also you won't have to pay that additional 10.00 for Saturday pick-up.
We don't like to take orders on Friday to go out that same day as we print our shipping invoices out that morning or even earlier. Barry |

Always best to budget an extra day...
Unfortunately I have had counter to counters left behind for the night at a layover airport, priority overnights spend the night a on Fedex truck, and even "hold for pickups" fall prey to natural disaster.
Always plan for the extra full time staffing day and you just may save that once in a lifetime specimen. Best of luck to all your online orders. |
