biological filter vs Skimmer
I was talking with saltwater store owner (new to me, but 10 yrs experience claiming). He was suggesting getting rid of my wet/dry and just increasing my skimmer size. Thoughts and comments??? Also, thought on calcium reactor w/ co2?

some people do it, if you consider a refugium its basically biological and a skimmer in the sump. I have a wet dry i have converted to basically a LR holding area. Wet/Drys are notorious for being nitrate factories. I never had a problem but some people have. If your system is doing fine, why change?

If you have problems then look into removing your bio balls a few at a time and adding some cured live rock.
Bio Balls do not have the deep low waterflow areas that live rock has. This keeps them from breaking down things as much. Skimmers are good. |

It was good advice but as was said nothing earth shaking that you have to do in a hurry. If you want to lower your nitrates for whatever reason take his advice.
