LOL

well I have been neglecting my tank .... surprisingly the sps I do have have not died. I haven't checked my parms forever ( months ) while using the sea chem reef salt. I would just do WC.

I will see where the Mg is once I go to lunch. I bet its low cause that sea chem salt really sucks. I tested my CA and alk yesterday

CA 390-400
alk 6.4
Ph. 7.9
nitrates 0
Mg ?

I just adde my kalk dripper so far so good

FYI alot of times salifert ships tests kits in boxes that do not belong to the test kit... so color would not help...

ijust got the new 4 drop kit and i am wondering if my kit may be bad. i never got a color change. i will test it with tap water and maybe some pond water.

i did test it with three of my tanks and repeatedly never got a color change.

i have used the old one in the past.

I tested yesterday I got no color change either, from my experience it means your mg is over 1500. Last time I tested my mg was 1300 and the time before that 1100.

Richard use that tester now ! How does that work ?

interesting. i will test other sources tomorrow.

last time i tested it was low but that was about two months ago and Salifert tests kits have not been available anywhere until now.

i have been adding the Holmes Farley three part solution for dosing. i could have added it too frequently but on one tank i tested i haven't added anything. it is my LR holding tank.

hmmm...

upon Richard's recomendation i got the Hanna c200 also but no Mg tests. something else to buy now i guess.

Carl
