The Halodule is growing fast and is now covering half the tank. The Thallasia is growing slower and hasnt changed much.

A couple of questions if you don't mind...........

Are you running CO2 in the tank?

I thought acans do not like high light or are you running them under VHOs?

No CO2, I'm running 3 overdriven 6500k NO flourescent, and one actinic VHO. Check the last page for my DIY light project.

Same mix I squirt in my tank for fish and other corals. Shaved PE mysis, cyclopeeze, frozen rotifiers, and DT's oyster eggs. I feed my suncorals every night, so it pretty much gets fed every night. I dont specifically target feed it every night though, about every 2-3 days, but there's enough in the water column that I'm sure its getting something every night.

The symphyllia is doing great. Hard to tell but it may be growing. I feed it every night.

Been working on the tank system a bit, and adding some new equipment. I've added a 30 breeder frag tank with 1 175 watt MH, an ACIII aquacontroller, and a Kalk reactor ( no more chronically low pH ). Soon I'll be adding a Ca reactor, and I'm considering dripping the effluent into my fuge where any residual CO2 can be used by the plants.

This is a good idea. Depending on the media used, some can leach phosphates and the macro algae in the fuge helps with the uptake before reaching the main tank. I know my fuge macro wents nuts when I started dripping the effluent into the fuge.

PO4 too huh? So it makes even more sense to do it that way. The fuge drains into the lagoon tank with the seagrass so if any escapes the macros the seagrass should finish it off.

Any experience with the media which also adds Mg?

wow! this thread is amazing. I have been following various threads about lagoons hooked up to reef tanks lately. I rent now but I think as soon as I own a house the lagoon is going to be a much anticipated addition to my reefing. Awsome setup graveyardworm!!

Thanks FUA, cant wait to see yours. It has strayed abit from its original purpose, which was support for a large reef diplay, but lately its become more of a coral display and holding tank for frags for my upcoming 180 inwall project. The grass has suffered abit, but nothing it cant recover from.

Today the elegance doesnt look so well, hopefully just an off day. I'm renovating a portion of my house and some dust/debris found its way into another tank which is connected into the same sump even though it was cover fairly well. Nothing major, just sawdust.

The growth of the Halodule has slowed down alot and even died back some. The thalassia has also slowed as well.
