Foxface disclaimer

Anyone have a fox face ? Are you afraid they are venomous ? One of the websites has this disclaimer. I would like to get one , but I like to live.

There are some fish that are deadly, like the stonefish, and others that just hurt like hell. Foxface falls in the latter category, unless you happen to be allergic.

I have both a foxface and a lion, and probably am more likely to get stung by the foxface because I tend to forget that its venemous.

I too have a foxface and feed hime nori every other day. It's to the point where I stick my hand in there with the nori and he comes right up and eats right out of my hand. Sometimes I tend to forget that he's venomous. But he only raises his top spines when he feels threatened. They're always "retracted" when I hand feed him.

Hey Dendence,
I wouldn't add the rabbitfish, simply because that's potentially a lot of size for your 125. The tangs would probably pick on him as well, and rabbitfish do not handle stress very well in my experience. They are, however, very hardy otherwise.
If you didn't already have the tangs, I would definitely recommend the foxface...with two tangs already I would suggest that you look to add some smaller dissimilar fish instead.

Just my opinion,

I wouldn't worry too much about the tangs picking on the FF. People keep foxface's in tanks sometimes with much more aggressive fish than tangs. I would tend to think that it could be a competition of algae eating fish and not enough algae in the tank to go around. If you got rid of one tang, then I suppose that would be ok.

well I guess I can get a FF. I have had the Powder Blue for about 3 weeks and it was doing great. It was eating great and getting along with my yellow.Yesterday when I got home it was stuck to the front of the skimmer box and as thin as a piece of paper. I changed out the lights the night before from PC to MH and I wonder if it stressed him out. Horrible. Its always the nice fish and the damsels live on forever.
