coral acclimatation

Hi

I am ready to transfer my soft corals from my 20g to my new 220g. My 220g has been running for 6 months so it's time to close the 20g. My 2 tanks are separate systems so they don't share the same water. To move my corals, do i need to acclimate them or i just take from the 20g directly to the 220g? Thanks

Yves B

Depends on exactly what corals you have.
If they are hardy softies like you say, then no need to acclimate, just plonk em straight in

My soft corals are zenia, devil's hand, zoathids, mushrooms, green star polyps and green polyps. I have one hard coral and it is a candy cane.

Hi
I would say acclimate them, although the PH/Temp/SG can be the same, the water chemistry will be different in both tanks.

I would acclimate the xenia and the candy cane, even that is debatable. Dont bother with the others.
