Friendly Family Competition

Hey my brother started this His thread !! We just wanted an unbiased non-reef club opinion of both tanks. Basically we have the same husbandry practices so base your vote on the pictures. Remember this is all in fun because now that he is moving and I have recently moved to Hawaii neither of use have our tanks and will not for the next few years.

Bob's Tank

Ed's Tank

LOL....great poll. Very hard to choose, I'd be very happy if I had the colors in either of those tanks.

I voted for Ed's tank. Besides, most of Ed's corals live on in one tank.
I would have liked to have seen Bob's tank in person.

I love both of them, but I voted for bobs because I like the aquascaping better.

I'd almost say it's a tie I like the aquascaping better in Bob's but the fullness and maturity of the corals in Ed's. Ultimately I voted for Ed by default... Too many non SPS corals in Bob's tank

Ed's tank...by a slim margin though...I just like the "full" look better. But we're talking on a scale of 1-10 (in comparison to each other), Ed's is a 10 and Bob's is a 9.5. Both very nice!

Bob and I thank you guys for the nice comments about our tanks. Mine has been gone for almost a year now. I was just home last month and seen Bob's in person. I almost could not take my eyes off it. People say "but you live in Hawaii why do you worry about not having a tank”. It’s just not the same as having something so beautiful in your living room which you are solely responsibly for.

I have to give Bob's tank a slight edge simply because I like the aquascaping better.

I can't decide between the two! Both have great qualities, and make incredible displays.

Please send me pics of the kind of girls each of you dated (especially the ones in Hawaii, Ed), and then I can make an informed decision

First off great job to both of you... great tanks for sure!!! Many would be lucky to have either of them!

I voted for Ed's tank. I voted for Ed's because the colonies seemed a bit more mature and grown out....HOWEVER, the aquascaping in Bob's is def more appealing IMO. Given another 6-8 months, I think Bob's tank perhaps would win this challenge.

Again, great tanks!

To be fair to Bob, that picture is old! All of those small pieces/frags are huge colonies now. Good thing I can't vote because I sure couldn't decide.

Hey, my aquascaping is cool too, you just can't see it through all the corals Bob is camping this weekend, maybe he will chime in on Monday.

But yes, this is an older picture of Bob's tank so this pole might be tilted a little to the right...sorry Bob.

Man...I am getting my butt kicked. I will get some new pictures before the tank comes down tomorrow . That may change some peoples minds. That is an old picture and my colonies have "grown up" since then.

Even though I like SPS better, it's nice to have a little diversification in a tank. With that being said, I vote for Bob's tank.

I did the same. Ed's just had the filled-in, mature look that I like so much.
