Anyone know what the rarest xenia is?
Just curious...the only interesting one I have seen is a blue one. Isn't there some other color variations?

Just did a search for rare or blue xenia, and came up with nothing. Personally I've never seen or heard of anything but pink or brownish. Possibly it was dyed, or from what I just found out clove polyps look very similar, and naturally occur in different colors.

Cespitularia is the sought-after blue xenia, although some Xenia spp may also be bluish. Check out this reefkeeping article:
http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/20...ture/index.php I think white, brown/tan/yellow, and pink/reddish are the common color varieties. Greenish or bluish are rarer (I've not seen these in person). Ryan |
